It's strange how something so removed from yourself can affect you so profoundly. For months now my mind has been reeling and searching for something familiar in such a polarized and different world, screaming in neons and streams of passing light. My fingers grasp for that old familiar crutch, but find nothing in the glaring lights. Nothing but new weaknesses. Anger. Impatience. Hatred. From nothingness emerges the ugly and disfigured faces of those I had once adored, with a new light in their eyes. A light that perhaps had always existed, but that I had never noticed in my childish innocence.Then, the world had been painted in the neutrals of familiarity and predictability, my fears buried beneath years of reassurance and proof of the world's benality. In one instant, with only two words, all those years of comfort, all of those shelters of straw, came crashing down to the earth. Since then, the world has screeched around me with the ferocity of a hurricane, in which the faces in which I had once felt comfort were strange and foreign. Seeing them again felt like easing my tongue around a once sweet apple, only to find the slimy worm living inside of it.In a world so confusing and so new, it's hard to stay balanced. And most of the time I"m not balanced. Most of the time I'm angry and I"m frustrated and I"m confused.
